Title: How do I import non-Flip images and video files into FlipShare?

Article ID: 296

The Import feature enables you to store non-Flip images and video files from other devices into FlipShare.  To learn how to export videos in FlipShare, click here.

IMPORTANT:  Videos shared through email or FlipShare groups will only be available online for viewing and downloading for 30 days after being sent starting March 15, 2012.  If you want to share and store your videos online for a longer period of time, you can use the Givit Service for FlipShare.  To learn more about this alternative service, click here.

Videos that are recorded using the Flip video camera can be viewed directly in the FlipShare Unsaved folder once the device is plugged into the computer.  If you would like to know more about FlipShare’s user interface, click here.  For instructions on how to transfer videos from your Flip video camera to your computer using FlipShare, click here.

QUICK TIP:  Tick the check box if you don’t want the prompt to reappear.

Step 4:

QUICK TIP:  You can select multiple media files by holding the Ctrl key and clicking on the files.

NOTE:  If you receive the “Sorry, but none of your files can be imported” error message, your media files may have unacceptable properties for FlipShare.  These can be the file format, filename extension, video resolution, dimensions/size, frame rate (frames per second [fps]), or video length.  To proceed, click OK.

You will now be able to apply the editing and sharing features of FlipShare on the files that you imported.
